Miss Georgia USA 2010
On November 13-14, 2009, dreams came true in Cartersville as Cassady Lance of Savannah was crowned the 2010 Miss Georgia USA at the Woodland Performing Arts Center. The 24-year-old University of Houston student also has dreams of becoming an entertainment reporter. "Having the opportunity to represent Georgia in the Miss USA pageant will give me an incredible platform to promote causes that are very important to me such as artistic expression in children," said Lance following her achievement. "Perhaps the most exciting prospect is the chance to let people know that today's pageant contestants are strong, intelligent, and motivated women who are trying to make a difference in society."

Miss Georgia Teen USA 2010
On Saturday afternoon, Caroline Wade of Acworth was crowned Miss Georgia Teen USA. Caroline is a student at Allatoona High School and is a theater level dancer for the Georgia Dance Conservatory. Wade hopes to advocate support for Georgia Special Olympics and cancer research while representing Georgia in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 2010.

Miss Cartersville Teen USA Samantha Plott was named Fourth Runner-up in the Miss Georgia Teen USA pageant. Samantha will serve as emcee of the inaugural Miss Cartersville Pageant in June 2010. Congratulations to all! See the crowning moment.

Tellus: Northwest Georgia Science Museum opened in January 2009 and welcomed more than 200,000 visitors during its first year. The museum offers a planetarium, observatory, the Georgia Tech Solar D House, and galleries of minerals, fossils and transportation. This museum is a must-see in Cartersville!
