The Bartow History Museum will close its exhibits on July 1, 2010, in anticipation of their relocation to the 1869 Courthouse at 4 East Church Street, "under the bridge" in downtown Cartersville. The Museum Store will remain open at its current location until a re-opening date is set sometime in early 2011. Lunch & Learn and Evening Lectures will continue to be presented at its present location.
This museum's mission is to preserve the cultural, industrial and agricultural heritage of Bartow County and northwest Georgia. Visitors will delight in this glimpse back into the workshops, farmsteads, and mercantile located in this center of trade, politics and transportation. Artifacts, archives and oral histories from pioneer settlements to the early 20th Century can be viewed. The Museum Store offers a fine collection of local history books and other quality historic reproductions.
