Book Signing Tea
March 30, 2008
Martha Mulinix Annex, Kingston Museum
A Book Signing tea will be held for Dana E. Davis, author of "Tomorrow is Better: The Story of the Kingston Woman's History Club, 1861-Tomorrow" from 2-4 p.m. Written in narrative form, "Tomorrow is Better," tells the story of the Kingston Woman's History Club through the eyes of four generations of women who weathered war, fire, financial obstacles and even General Sherman's occupation of their town. Davis is an independent researcher in Southern U.S. History, who began her career with Cartersville Newspapers in 1991 as a reporter for The Daily Tribune News. She began work on the book in 2005 in order to pay tribute to the women of Kingston who worked so hard without proper recognition year after year. The book, completed in November 2007 was made possible in part by a grant from the Cartersville Bartow Community Foundation, a member affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia, Inc. Members of the Kingston Woman's History Club, of which Davis is a member, will serve refreshments. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the tea. Those who have already purchased books may also bring them to be signed by the author.
