10 a.m.-5 p.m. Each year in May, Advocates for Children, a local non-profit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect, races tens of thousands of "adopted" rubber ducks down the Etowah River to the finish line. The grand prize winner claims a new car! Many other fabulous prizes donated by local businesses are awarded. There are arts and crafts vendors, a Kids Korner, entertainment and fun for all ages. This year's theme is Surfin' Safari! Its' all about the beach - tropical shirts, grass skirts, and "Hanging Ten!" Admission to the festival is free. The rubber ducks hit the water at 2:30 and winners are announced at 4:00. Don't miss out! Adopt your duck today! All proceeds benefit Advocates for Children.
