This museum displays a permanent collection of contemporary Western American Art. More than 200 paintings and sculptures, by more than 100 of the finest 20th century Western artists, depict the history and legends of the Old West, as well as the modern day cowboy and Native Peoples. Additional galleries include: Civil War, Presidential, Western Illustration and Western Movie posters.
The Children's Gallery has interactive and educational exhibits related to art and Western culture, which visitors of all ages find both entertaining and enlightening. A temporary gallery hosts traveling Western and non-western art exhibitions. Additional features include: a 140-seat theater available for lectures, artist's discussions, roundtable panels and film screenings; and a multimedia room with seating capacity for 50 where orientation films or videos related to specific artists and/or exhibits might be shown.
Be sure to visit to the museum shop for books on art and Western culture, as well as prints and other items featuring Western art images. Museum members and visitors may enjoy coffee, pastries and light lunches in the cafe.
Hours: Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Closed Mondays.
Admission Price: $8 adults, $6 senior citizens age 65+ and military with ID, $5 students, ages 12 & under free.

Directions: I-75 Exit 288, GA 113 south (due west), approximately 2 miles to downtown Cartersville. Turn right on Gilmer Street. Museum is two blocks ahead on the left. Parking is on the right.
